Welcome!!! I am glad you found your way blog. My name is Emily Horn and I am an Elementary Education major attending Rowan University. I come from a big family where I am one of six children. Growing up in a large family shaped me into who I am today. You'll hear stories of people who say their family has made them more outgoing or allowed them to come out of their shell. What I learned from my family is to listen. I am very quiet and tend to follow the one rule my dad would always tell us, "you have two ears and one mouth."
I grew up listening to people because I cared to listen to what they had over what I had to say. I love learning about people and what makes them tick; their thoughts, dreams, and accomplishments make them who they are. Through listening, I have also learned that not many people listen. There are very few people who care enough to take the time to listen to someone else. I am beginning this page to share the stories of those who are not heard. I will be talking with people who are disabled, handicapped, has special needs, or even anyone who relates to this topic. There are people all around whose story has not been heard. My mission for this blog is for these people to be heard. They are often masked by what people see on the outside, but little do people know, there is so much more to them. Lend an ear. Hear their story. Make a change. |
