I am very new to the whole Facebook page thing and have never promoted anything to be completely honest. When I was asked to create a page as one of my assignments, I thought it would be easy. I created my first post to tell my viewers to check out my first blog. I got a good amount of likes for it being my first post. I included a picture of my cousin, whom I interviewed, and wrote something short thanking him for his time. I feel that this post reached the most people because a lot of my followers on the page are my family. They are relating to the post and therefore clicked the like button. I explained to them in person the assignment, so they had somewhat of a background in what I was doing. This is another factor that plays into this particular post getting likes. The same pattern appears when I promoted my second blog post, but this time it included my brother. As for my other blog posts, I tried to be as "real" as I could. For one post I wrote about an encounter that I had in the grocery store. I tried to reach my audience by posting quotes that they could relate to. I did not get many likes on these posts because I feel like my followers did not feel a connection. I realized that they like seeing me promote my blog with pictures of who I am interviewing.

I tried to post in a more scattered manner so my followers do not feel that they are being bombarded by my page. I posted eight times from the time I began my Facebook page until now. I tried as best as I could to develop dialogue with my audience, but no one commented on any of my posts. My uncle saw one of my posts on my page, went to my blog, and left a comment there. I felt that this was an accomplishment because this means people are actually taking the time to visit my blog and read it.
